The Mohave County Historical Society has a magnificent collection of oil paintings of all of the American Presidents and the First Ladies which has been provided by generous local donors starting in 1979. The recent remodeling of the museum includes a fitting exhibit for these paintings in the “Hall of Presidents”. The oil portraits were created by Lawrence Williams as a tribute to the history of the United States of America. These paintings are one of at least three collections painted by Williams.

This digital collection, U.S. Presidents and the History of Arizona, provides a portrait and a brief biography of each President and First Lady with descriptions of major issues and historical events during the president’s term in office. A concurrent time-line of Arizona and Mohave County history is included for reference and education.
