The USS Arizona became infamous on December 7th, 1941 as the first U.S. battleship sunk during World War II. It continues to be in the forefront of American consciousness as a memorial to the servicemen who died during the war. The Arizona Capitol Museum is home to the silver service that was donated to the USS Arizona by the citizens of this state in 1919. This service is comprised of 59 distinct pieces on display at the Capitol Museum. Documents associated with the service are located in the Arizona State Archives.
